SSPC strengthens security operations in Huatulco for the Cruise Season

The Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) has announced the reinforcement of its patrols in the Bay of Santa Cruz Huatulco starting September 1, in preparation for the 2024-2025 cruise season. The objective is to guarantee the safety of the crews and visitors arriving via maritime vessels that will arrive at the dock of this popular coastal area.

In a recent meeting organized by the municipal authorities of Santa María Huatulco, and convened through the Directorate of Tourism, a coordinated operational deployment between various institutions was agreed to ensure the protection and well-being of passengers and the local community during the peak cruise season.

Participants in the Operational Deployment

The operation will involve the participation of multiple entities, including:

Tourist Police Unit Coordination
State Police and State Highway Police
Heroic Fire Department of Oaxaca (HCBO)
Coastal Command and Control Center (C2)
National Guard (GN)
XVIII Huatulco Naval Zone
Federal Maritime Land Zone (Zofemat)
Municipal Police
Clean Beach Committees
Port Authority
Health and Rescue
These organizations will work closely together to offer comprehensive coverage, including foot and mobile patrols, as well as an active presence in the port area and beaches.

State Government Commitment

The Government of the State of Oaxaca, through the SSPC, reaffirms its commitment to order and tranquility in the coastal region of Huatulco. This reinforcement of security measures is part of the ongoing effort to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for tourists, while ensuring a quick and effective response to any eventuality.

With this initiative, the SSPC seeks not only to improve security during the cruise season, but also to strengthen confidence in emergency and assistance services in the area. The operational deployment also reflects the Government’s commitment to a “New Social Pact”, guaranteeing a safe and orderly environment for all visitors and residents of the state.
