The Mazatlan Grand Aquarium is the largest and most impressive in Latin America, dedicated to the Sea of ​​Cortez with a focus on education and the dissemination of knowledge that has 27 habitats that show the life and ecosystems of this sea. In addition, the space was designed by the Mexican architect, Tatiana Bilbao, whose works often merge geometry with nature.

The Gran Acuario Mazatlán houses approximately 174 species, including 12 species of corals and jellyfish, 17 species of birds, and around 107 species of fish. The exhibit habitats contain more than 900 thousand gallons of water, highlighting the 682 thousand 540 gallons of its main exhibit, the large Oceanic habitat, which has a window of more than 12 meters wide by 6 meters high.

What can modern humans learn from old software?

The aquarium offers several activities such as the Educational Experience with Sea Lions, the visit to the Humboldt Penguin habitat, and the Interaction with Penguins. Since August 1, two new and incredible experiences were included: snorkeling and diving, where visitors can swim with sharks and meet hundreds of species in the oceanic habitat in a safe and exciting environment. These new attractions have been a great success with both locals and foreign visitors.

The minimum age to enjoy the snorkeling experience is 12 years old and best of all, you can enter with cameras and video. For the diving experience you must be a certified diver and you can take photos and videos when the divers tell you to.

The Aquarium is open Monday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and has individual and group rates.
