Tiger escapes from recreation center in Tamaulipas, authorities warn

Tigre se escapa de centro recreativo en Tamaulipas, autoridades alertan

This Wednesday, an alert was activated in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, after the escape of a tiger in a recreational center located in the Los Longoria ejido was reported to the 911 emergency number.

In a note from NMas, the site is located near the banks of the Rio Bravo, which has led the authorities to not rule out the possibility that the feline had gone to the river to cool off.

An operation was deployed in which elements of the State Guard, Civil Protection and Animal Protection participated, who are focused on locating and capturing the tiger as soon as possible to avoid risks to the population.

The authorities have issued recommendations to the residents of the surrounding areas, urging them to remain alert and immediately report any sighting of the animal to the emergency numbers.

Although the operation continues, there has not yet been any news reported about the capture of the tiger, so the population is asked to remain calm and pay attention to official instructions.

How to act in the presence of a tiger

If you encounter a tiger that has escaped from captivity, it is crucial that you avoid any attempt to approach it.

They may be agitated by being outside their usual environment and could act unpredictably.

If you find yourself in a situation close to the feline, trying to distract it is the best option.
