Costa Esmeralda Fest 2024: How to get from Puebla to this event?

Next weekend, the Costa Esmeralda Fest will be held in the municipality of Tecolutla, Veracruz. In the 2024 edition, various artistic presentations, workshops, beach volleyball competitions, tours of the region’s mangroves and many more activities will be offered.

Among the artists who will perform are Mike Towers, La Maldita Vecindad and Afrojack, to name a few. Attendees will be able to enjoy these shows by the sea, taking advantage of the opportunity to swim, get to know the region and taste local dishes.

The event, with free admission, will take place from Friday, September 6 to Sunday, September 8. Activities will begin between 6 and 7 in the morning with sports tournaments. Throughout the day there will be craft exhibitions and various dynamics, while live shows will begin at 8 at night.

The festival will take place at Playa Vigueta in Costa Esmeralda, which is 4 hours and 50 minutes from the city of Puebla by private vehicle. This may change depending on the traffic that day.

To go by car, the first thing you have to do is leave the state capital via the Mexico – Puebla Highway, to go towards Amozoc. Then you will have to take the exit towards Xalapa, on the Short Road to Veracruz.

Then go to the Mexico 136/Teziutlán exit. Then continue on Mexico 129 towards the Gulf Coast Highway O/Poza Rica – Veracruz until you reach your destination. The cost of the toll booths can be 283 pesos one way.

To travel by bus, you can take one from the CAPU terminal. There are usually direct trips from this point. Although there are few races, it is therefore advisable to take a bus from Puebla to a nearby town, such as Martínez de la Torre, Poza Rica or San Rafael.
