They say on social media that many people, when we were children, had a hard time learning the states and capitals, so they come to change the Mexican Republic by increasing it by three federative entities.
Where does this idea come from? From three projects that aim to increase the number of states that make up the Mexican territory from 32 to 35, because there are already more communities or more cultures that expand the national diversity.
Today we will tell you what the names are that are proposed for these new states and no, don’t worry, none of the states you already learned in school would disappear.
They want to create 3 new states and these would be their names
Both regional leaders as well as various organizations have proposed on various occasions, with arguments such as community ties or attachment to the territory, the creation of three more states to make up Mexico.
The names and the reason why they would be called that way, we share them with you below:
La Laguna
This territory is the one that includes the state of Durango with Coahuila and would take into account the congregation of municipalities of both entities. The region where it would be located is the Comarca Lagunera. It is an area dedicated to agriculture, mining. It is known as La Laguna or the lagoon region, because previously there were 13 lagoons in that region.
La Huasteca
The regions that would make up this new state would be those that make up the limits of Hidalgo, Puebla, of course San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, also Tamaulipas, Veracruz and Guanajuato. Prior to this name, there was another proposed name that read State of Iturbide, but they opted for La Huasteca.
Calentano
This central region of the country would be made up of states such as Michoacán, Guerrero and part of the south of the State of Mexico. Its name is Calentano because the area in which it is located is called “Tierra Caliente”.
It is important to emphasize that this is only a project and there is no formal initiative, although in 2019, legislator Porfirio Muñoz Ledo had taken up the project of the formation of the state of La Laguna.
