Starting in December, Aeromexico will operate new routes from the Guadalajara airport to Orlando, Miami, Las Vegas and Denver.

Guadalajara, Jal. Guadalajara will have an increase in international flights for the end of the year with the launch of new connections to Orlando, Miami, Las Vegas and Denver.

The Jalisco Tourism Secretariat (Secturjal), the Guadalajara Convention and Visitors Bureau (OFVC) and Aeromexico announced the new winter season routes that will begin operating on December 19.

“The expectations of the tourism sector for the winter season are increasing and with the addition of more flights to the United States starting this December, the expectation is quite positive. In the first half of this year alone, this market accounted for 79% of international tourism,” said the head of Secturjal, Vanessa Pérez Lamas.

According to the Migration Policy Unit of the Mexican government, during the first half of 2024, 1.4 million American tourists arrived in Jalisco, a figure 8.2% higher than the same period in 2023, which, according to Pérez Lamas, reflects the growing interest of American tourism in visiting Jalisco destinations and the decision of airlines to open new routes that connect with that market.

“Guadalajara is a destination with a long tradition for Aeroméxico; we have been operating here for more than 70 years, and during this time our goal has been to evolve alongside the city. Its important economic and tourist activity continues to give us the opportunity to increase air connectivity and the opening of these seasonal routes during the winter are a clear example of this,” said Pasquale Speranza, Vice President of Sales Mexico and JCA of Aeromexico.

During the period from January to July, the Guadalajara International Airport reported the arrival of 4.9 million passengers.

Currently, the Guadalajara airport has connections with 60 destinations, of which 32 are domestic and 28 are international.
