Comienzan preparativos del Festival 'La Muerte Tiene Permiso' in memoriam José Agustín

The Bachelor’s Degree in Hispanic American Language and Literature at the Autonomous University of Tlaxcala (UATx) announces the XXXVI edition of the traditional “La Muerte tiene Permiso” Festival, which this year will pay tribute to the famous Mexican writer José Agustín, who passed away last January.

This cultural and academic event will take place on October 28, 29 and 30 at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters at UATx, and promises to be an unforgettable celebration that will bring together experts, artists and students around the literature of the wave and the cultural traditions of Mexico about death.

In this special edition, in memoriam José Agustín, attendees will be able to enjoy a wide range of activities that will address the author’s work and other topics related to Mexican literature. From conferences, discussions and artistic presentations, the festival invites us to reflect on the relevance of the legacy in the national culture

Although the festival will take place at the end of October, preparations will begin on September 18 with a series of workshops organized by the event committee. In this way, students from the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters will be able to enroll in workshops on writing short stories and skulls, taught by renowned teachers of the Degree, with the aim of fostering creativity and strengthening the literary skills of the participants.

The XXXVI Festival “La Muerte Tenemos Permiso” is consolidated, once again, as a meeting space between academia and culture, offering a tribute to death and celebrating the life and work of one of the greatest exponents of Mexican literature.
