Nuevo Laredo to open Mexico’s largest customs office

Nuevo Laredo is set to reach a significant milestone on Saturday, September 21st, with the opening of Mexico’s largest customs office, known as ANAM. Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador is scheduled to attend this momentous occasion, marking an important step in trade relations between the U.S. and Mexico.

Dr. Victor Treviño, Mayor of Laredo, expressed enthusiasm for the new customs office, highlighting its potential to boost business on both sides of the border, particularly in Laredo, which is the largest land port for trade in the United States.

“This development will be beneficial for commerce as we are the biggest port in the U.S.,” Treviño stated. “It’s equally crucial for them. Protecting our commerce and events like this inauguration are vital to us.”

Unfortunately, Mayor Treviño won’t be able to attend the inaugural event due to safety concerns. The U.S. State Department has advised against crossing the border at this time.
