Man shot outside shopping mall in Puerto Vallarta

A man was seriously injured after being shot at the northern entrance to Puerto Vallarta.

The incident occurred shortly before 9:30 a.m., in the shopping mall located in the area bordering the municipality of Bahía de Banderas, Nayarit.

There, a man traveling in a white Toyota pickup truck with Jalisco license plates was attacked by subjects traveling in another vehicle who pulled up alongside him in the alley that divides both directions of federal highway 200.

According to the testimony of the victim’s wife, whose age ranges between 45 and 50 years old, when they took the alley to return, a vehicle pulled up alongside them and they shot directly at the victim, hitting him at least twice; one bullet lodged in his skull while another hit his neck, according to preliminary data.

The attackers immediately escaped, while emergency services nearby treated the victim, who was rushed to a private hospital where he is reported to be in serious health.

A strong security operation has been deployed at the site, with the participation of elements of the three levels of government, while experts from the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences carry out the investigations.
