With a banner, military commanders and the National Guard are accused of forced disappearances in Culiacán

In the early hours of this Wednesday, a banner with accusatory messages was placed on the bridge of Avenida Álvaro Obregón, one of the busiest points in the Sinaloan capital. The banner makes serious accusations against high-ranking military and National Guard officials, alleging their involvement in the forced disappearances of citizens during their operations.

The message includes the names of Brigadier General Porfirio Fuentes Vélez and Brigadier General Héctor Jiménez Aldana, the state coordinator of the National Guard, suggesting that both officers are linked to these events. Additionally, it lists a series of patrol numbers allegedly related to units of the National Guard and the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), accused of transporting the victims of disappearances.

The banner also accuses that the involved patrols operate with falsified or canceled numbers, making them difficult to trace and allowing for covert operations. According to the message, these units have been used to carry out the forced disappearances of several citizens, who have subsequently not been seen.

So far, neither the National Guard nor the mentioned high-ranking officials have issued an official statement in response to these serious accusations. The message has generated concern among the local population and increases tensions in a city that, in recent months, has faced a growing wave of violence and confrontations.
