During the administration of the XXIV Ensenada City Council, 1,008 pets were sterilized in 20 free sessions with the support of animal protection associations.
This was announced by the municipal president Carlos Ibarra Aguiar, who stated that during these Animal Welfare sessions, 1,283 anti-rabies vaccines were also applied, and 1,196 dewormings were carried out.
He specified that a total of 150 microchips and 226 quintuple vaccines were also applied during this period, all free of charge so that the population can keep their pets in healthy conditions.
“The Government of Ensenada through the Sub-directorate of Ecology and Environment, managed to establish strategic alliances with animal protection associations and a culture of care and protection of pets was generated,” he stressed.
For his part, the deputy director of Ecology and Environment, Oscar Quiñonez Uribe, announced that the last canine and feline sterilization day of this administration, held in the Delegation of La Misión, resulted in 24 sterilized pets.
“In addition, support was provided with 60 doses of anti-rabies vaccine applied by the staff of the Canine and Feline Care Center of Ensenada (CACYFE) and doses of anti-flea and tick medication to all the pets treated,” he said.
The municipal official thanked the support of Shortys Rescue, Hercules Clinic, the College of Veterinarians in Small Species of Ensenada, CACYFE and Chiquitas Friends Rescue, for joining these days that were held free of charge.
