Canaco Denounces Excessive Flight Prices from Aguascalientes to Mexico City and Vice Versa

Canaco Aguascalientes points out that the price of the plane ticket is excessively expensive, even more so than for longer distances such as from Guanajuato to Chiapas.

The president of Canaco, Miguel Ángel Breceda Solís, denounces the excessive costs of the flight from Aguascalientes to Mexico City and vice versa.

“It is excessively expensive; it costs more to fly from Aguascalientes to Mexico City than from Bajío Airport to Tuxtla Gutiérrez. While that flight costs between 1,500 and 2,500 pesos, the ticket from Aguascalientes to Mexico City never drops below 4,500 pesos,” he stated to El Heraldo de Aguascalientes.

He noted that this affects both passengers and airlines. Users seek to fly to Mexico City for the security it offers, but many opt to buy a bus ticket since the cost is a quarter of the plane ticket.

This causes flights to not fill up and depart half-empty, Breceda Solís points out.

The high price of the plane ticket from Aguascalientes to Mexico City is due to only one airline offering the destination.

Finally, the president of Canaco Aguascalientes stated that they are negotiating with airport authorities of both entities to make the ticket price more flexible.
