Hurricane ‘John’ left damage on roads in Guerrero, Michoacán, Edomex and Oaxaca

In Guerrero, Michoacán, Oaxaca and Edomex there are roads affected by the rains and floods caused by the passage of hurricane ‘John’, admitted the SICT

The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT) reported that after the passage of the meteorological phenomenon John in national territory, it has made progress in repairing affected roads and paths. However, there are still partial or total closures in Guerrero, Michoacán, the state of Mexico and Oaxaca.

In the state of Mexico the Tenango del Valle-Ixtapan de la Sal Highway is closed in both directions due to landslides.

In Guerrero there is a total closure on the highways Mex. 200 D Autopista Libramiento Técpan, due to the rising river; Chilpancingo-Acapulco kilometer 30+900, due to a failure in drainage works; on the federal Chilpancingo-Acapulco, Chilpancingo section.

Acapulco kilometer 180+000, due to the flooding of a tributary river of the Balsas River; on the Acapulco-Zihuatanejo kilometer 38+000; on Federal Route 93 Chilpancingo-Acatlán de Osorio kilometer 169+000, due to an undermining in the exit access of the “Tlapaneco I” bridge.

On the Acapulco-Pinotepa Nacional Highway Border section of Guerrero and Oaxaca, kilometer 38+000; on the Chilpancingo-Acapulco. “Ing. Alfredo Mendizábal” Bridge, kilometer 114+490; On the Iguala-Chilpancingo federal highway, the Iguala-Chilpancingo section kilometer 184+900 is closed due to the overflow of the river bed; on the Chilpancingo-Acapulco highway, kilometer 30+900.

The highways with partial interruptions due to sinkholes, landslides and graining in the traffic lanes are the Federal 95. Chilpancingo-Acapulco, kilometer 65+000; Tierra Colorada-Cruz Grande, section: Tierra Colorada-Tecoanapa; the Federal Acapulco-Pinotepa Nacional, section Puente “Nuevo Carrizo”; the Federal Chilpancingo- Acatlán de Osorio, in the Chilpancingo-Limítrofe Guerrero/ Puebla section; the Mex. 95D Autopista Cuernavaca-Acapulco, in the Tierra Colorada-La Venta junction section.

In Michoacán there is a total interruption in the Cuate II Bridge Route 37 of the Carapan – Playa Azul highway; Caminos–Arteaga; free highway Cuatro Caminos-Lázaro Cárdenas, Cuate Bridge, Cuponcillo community, municipality of La Huacana, where the bridge collapsed.

In Querétaro, the Mexico-Querétaro Highway, at kilometer 161+900; while in Oaxaca the Mexico 175 Oaxaca-Puerto Ángel highway, kilometer 129, was opened to traffic; there is a total closure on the Mex. 125 T. Yucudaa-Pinotepa Nacional, kilometer 82+000 due to landslides.

There are partial interruptions on the Mex. 175 Tuxtepec–Oaxaca highway, kilometer 17+000; and Mex. 175 Oaxaca-Puerto Ángel, kilometer 123+500.

SICT said it will continue to monitor the route in order to ensure safe transit, promptly addressing any incidents that may arise as a result of the meteorological phenomenon.
