
In the second quarter of 2024, the five Mexican entities with the highest annual increases (compared to the same period of the previous year) in the value of their exports were: Quintana Roo, with 103%; Oaxaca, with 39.4%; Nayarit, with 30.2%; Yucatán, with 21.4% and Colima, with 19.6%, reported the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi).
Of the total exports, the states with the greatest contribution to the total value were: Chihuahua (13.1%), Coahuila (12.7%), Baja California (10.3%), Nuevo León (9.9%), Tamaulipas (6.6%) and Guanajuato (6.4%). Together, these entities accounted for 59% in the April-June 2024 quarter.
According to the results of the Quarterly Exports by Federal Entity of Inegi, the transportation equipment manufacturing subsector stood out for its participation in the total value of exports (40.3%).
The states with the greatest contribution in this activity were: Coahuila (21.2%), Guanajuato (11.3%), Chihuahua (8.7%), Nuevo León (8.1%) and Puebla and San Luis Potosí (7.3%, each). These entities concentrated 63.8% of the value of these exports.
Another of the subsectors that also stood out in shipments abroad is that of computer, communication, measurement and other electronic equipment, components and accessories and the states with the greatest contributions were: Chihuahua (37.7%), Baja California (19.5%), Jalisco (17.4%), Tamaulipas (9.5%) and Nuevo León (6%). Together they accounted for 90%.
The states that contributed the most to the exports of accessories, electrical appliances and power generation equipment were: Nuevo León (27.3%), Chihuahua (13.4%), Tamaulipas (11.8%), Baja California (10.2%) and Querétaro (8.1%). These states accounted for 70.7% of the total exports of this subsector.
Meanwhile, Campeche (56.4%), Tabasco (37.1%), Veracruz (4.5%), Chiapas (1.4%) and Tamaulipas (0.6%) accounted for the total exports of the Oil and Gas Extraction subsector.
The states with the greatest participation in the exports of the Agriculture subsector were: Sonora (22.6%), Michoacán (21.2%), Sinaloa (14.2%), Jalisco (8.1%), Baja California (7%) and Guanajuato (5.4%). The six states accounted for 78.5% of the total.
