
This Wednesday, the United States ambassador visited the city of Hermosillo where he met with Alfonso Durazo, governor of Sonora, and businessmen from both countries.
According to an information dispatch issued by the US embassy in the capital of Sonora, the diplomat commented on the importance that both border states represent together: “I recognize the leadership of Governor Alfonso Durazo to unite our nations, particularly with Arizona, through tourism, economic ties, electromobility, clean energy and education to support the talent of our young people so that they are the drivers of a brighter future.”
He stressed the importance for both countries of the relocation of global companies on both sides of the border: “By doing so, we maximize the benefits that arise from the T-MEC, from nearshoring, we reduce waiting times, we strengthen the ties of border communities and we contribute to making North America more competitive. All this, for the benefit of our nations, their prosperity and security.
She confirmed that her country’s government will be present at the inauguration of President-elect Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum, through Dr. Jill Biden, wife of the President of the United States.
