Around 4,000 cyclists rode the 80 kilometers of free road in the Rosarito-Ensenada Bike Ride during its fall edition on the morning of Saturday, September 28, starting at Benito Juárez Boulevard, at the height of the Rosarito Hotel, until reaching the Ensenada Coastal Boulevard, where they were received with a great party at the State Arts Center.
Organizer Claudia Ley said that they are celebrating the 45th anniversary of the event, for which around 88 editions have been held, generally two editions are held each year: spring and fall.
The participating cyclists come from various states of the Mexican Republic, in addition to the southern United States, and cyclists from Colombia, Brazil and Peru also registered.
The main challenge was for the authorities to understand the importance of the event and the economic impact it generates for the coastal area, such as Tijuana, Rosarito and Ensenada.
During this fall edition, the number of participants was exceeded, since during the last edition there were around 3 thousand cyclists. The organizer indicated that the number of cyclists depends on various factors inherent to the event, such as the insecurity that inhibits participants from the United States.
For his part, Guillermo Rodriguez, who has been the founder, highlighted the support of the State Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Aguiñiga, for his collaboration to resume this edition of the Rosarito-Ensenada Cycling Tour, managing dialogue with the municipal authorities of the IX Municipality of Rosarito.
