Tamaulipas boosts economic development with safe roads

Since security is a key factor for economic growth, the State Government, through the Tamaulipas Public Security Secretariat (SSPT), reinforces inter-institutional actions, which will allow the commercial activity in the Port of North Matamoros, tourism in Playa Bagdad and binational trade to be triggered.

The head of the SSPT, Sergio Hernando Chávez García, highlighted that the coordination of efforts between the three levels of government through the security tables that are headed daily by the governor, Américo Villarreal Anaya, has positioned Tamaulipas within the 10 states with the lowest incidence of crime and with zero reports of cargo theft.

“Tamaulipas is one of the few entities in the country that we can boast of having zero percent of cargo theft, in addition, to implement these security conditions a strategic plan has been designed on the initiative of the governor himself,” he said.

Among these actions, he highlighted the upcoming delivery of 150 patrol cars that will reinforce the presence of the State Guard in the 43 municipalities and the upcoming construction of 15 Safe Stations on the northern border.

With this, it is also intended to reinforce the presence and surveillance in the areas surrounding the international bridges, promoting tourism and transportation flow on both sides of the border; as well as providing security to the metropolitan area of Reynosa and Río Bravo where vehicular and pedestrian traffic is greater due to industrial activity.

Through these actions, the SSPT reiterates its commitment to consolidate the transformation in terms of security and meet the demands of the Tamaulipas citizens.
