Woman who ran over motorcyclist who tried to assault her in Iztapalapa is released

The Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office reported that the Public Ministry agent ordered the release of a driver of a private van and the operator of a public passenger bus, after being involved in the death of a person who was trapped between both vehicles, during an alleged attempted robbery.

The agency announced that both people had been placed at the disposal of the social representative as established by law, in order to carry out the corresponding investigations and determine responsibilities, so once the above occurred, they were released.

It was reported that it was verified that the evidence collected allowed to establish that they were -the drivers- the object of a robbery with physical and verbal violence, facing a real danger and there was no motivation, representation or awareness of their act.

The driver who was involved in the incident has no criminal record, nor pending warrants to comply with.

The agency announced that both people had been placed at the disposal.

The facts…

A man died after attempting to allegedly rob a woman who was traveling in a blue van in the Iztapalapa municipality, during the afternoon of Wednesday, October 2.

The events occurred when police from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) were alerted when they were informed by radio frequency about a traffic accident on Eje 5 Sur and La Viga road.

After that, the security elements arrived at the scene and observed a man pinned between the van and a public transport truck.

In response to this, the officers cordoned off the area and requested emergency services. Later, paramedics, who arrived at the scene, diagnosed the dead man.
