On Friday, October 4, two accidents were reported on federal highway 57, on the stretch that connects Nueva Rosita with Allende, between Cuesta Codornices and Infante, mobilizing local emergency services.
The first incident occurred at kilometer 144 of Cuesta Codornices, where a white closed box cargo truck overturned. The two occupants of the vehicle suffered injuries, although, according to preliminary reports, they are not in serious condition.
The second accident involved a black pickup truck in which a family was traveling returning from Ciudad Acuña. The pickup truck ended up blocking both lanes of traffic, which caused a temporary obstruction of traffic. Motorists traveling through the area, along with the National Guard, were in charge of moving the vehicle to restore traffic flow.
Paramedics from the Red Cross and Misión Bomberos Coahuila attended to the emergencies, transporting the injured to nearby hospitals for medical attention. Local authorities are continuing to investigate the causes of both incidents.
