Coahuila will hold a vehicle registration night sale from September 17 to 19, through which taxpayers will be able to obtain a 50 percent discount on their accumulated outstanding debts, reported José María Morales Padilla, the state’s tax administrator.
The strategy seeks to facilitate vehicle regularization and expand options so that taxpayers can bring their obligations up to date.
The benefit will be available to individuals and legal entities, motorcycle owners, and vehicles intended for public transportation services, including taxis.
EXTENDED SERVICE HOURS
Morales Padilla reported that the more than 20 tax collection offices operating in Coahuila will maintain extended hours during the three days of the campaign, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.
The strategy will also include modules installed in shopping centers, as well as two mobile units that will be located in southern Saltillo and southern Monclova, with the goal of bringing services closer to taxpayers.
“If you owe money for license plates, take advantage of this promotion: 50 percent off for everyone,” the tax administrator said.
SEEK TO FACILITATE REGULARIZATION
The official explained that the campaign responds to Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas’s instruction to create mechanisms that support the population and facilitate compliance with their obligations.
In addition to representing a benefit for taxpayers, the strategy seeks to strengthen the state’s own-source revenue, whose resources from taxes and fees are allocated to public works, programs, and actions.
Morales Padilla noted that the night sale represents an opportunity for vehicle owners to reduce their outstanding debts and prevent unpaid obligations from continuing to accumulate.
