The governor said that over the coming months he will seek to ensure that federal commitments to Coahuila are reflected in funding and concrete infrastructure projects.
The expansion of the Saltillo-Monclova highway will be Coahuila’s main priority in negotiations over the federal economic package for 2027, Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas stated.
Ahead of the upcoming presentation of the federal budget, the governor said he hopes funding will be allocated to make this project a reality, as it is among the commitments made by Mexico’s president to the state.
“Hopefully, that budget package can include, for example, funding for the Saltillo-to-Monclova highway. I would say that is the number one priority,” he said.
Coahuila Has Other Pending Projects
Jiménez Salinas said other important federal projects for Coahuila are also still pending, including the reactivation of AHMSA, progress on the railway project, and the construction of the new IMSS hospital.
Regarding the train, he said the project continues to move forward and is currently undergoing work related to the right-of-way.
In the case of the IMSS hospital, he recalled that the Government of Coahuila provided the land and stated that construction is making progress.
State Will Seek Federal Funding to Complete Projects
The governor said that over the coming months he will work to ensure that federal commitments to Coahuila translate into funding and concrete projects.
The expansion of the Saltillo-Monclova highway, he emphasized, currently tops the list of projects for which the state will seek financial support from the federal government.
