The Ministry of Public Education (SEP), under Claudia Sheinbaum’s six-year term, will seek a more complete education for all levels: especially basic (preschool, primary and secondary). After the former Head of Government of Mexico City (CDMX) explained the points that she will attack in her government, the training of students will be one of her most important bastions.
Therefore, the SEP will modify the class schedule for preschool, primary and secondary school students with the aim of making their education more comprehensive. Likewise, new subjects would be added to their respective programs; it is important to mention that the changes will be at a national level, so millions of students will be affected.
What will the new class schedule be like after Claudia Sheinbaum’s proposals?
Under the “new Mexican school” scheme, the current Federal Government seeks that preschool, primary and secondary school students have a much more complete education in the physical and artistic field. Therefore, the class schedule will be extended and the constant improvement of the conditions in which the country’s youth study will be promoted.
Although Claudia Sheinbaum announced the changes during her inauguration, the SEP has not yet specified when the new class schedule will begin for preschool, primary and secondary school students, much less the date on which new subjects will be added for the comprehensive education that is sought in this new six-year term.
Which schools will have the new SEP class schedule?
The change that both Claudia Sheinbaum and the agency will implement will be at a national level, mainly in the basic education sector. Therefore, all schools in the country will add the new class schedule; as we have already mentioned, it still does not have an official implementation date.
For now, classes and schedules will continue on a daily basis until further notice from the SEP; in the case of subjects, it will be the same situation.
