This is how an armed group closed the El Sinaloense tunnel in the “Super”

It has been a month since violence in the neighboring state of Sinaloa worsened, which has had an impact on Durango due to its proximity, and as part of the connectivity that is generated between both regions through the Durango-Mazatlán superhighway, where armed conflicts have arisen.

For example, what happened on said road; and that is that on social networks a video of a few seconds began to circulate on the morning of this Wednesday, October 9, showing several armed men who are allegedly inside one of the tunnels of the Durango-Mazatlán superhighway. According to what can be heard in the material, it is the El Sinaloense tunnel; although the recording has begun to circulate in the last few hours, the exact date on which said event was recorded is unknown.

“We are in the Sinaloense ‘ira’,” the man who is recording apparently says, while at the same time he holds a long weapon.

In 11 seconds, a trailer can be seen crossing the middle of the tunnel, stopping the flow of vehicles, an armed man on the ground, others also on guard, and a white van in which there is another subject also with a weapon in his hands.

What does Capufe say?

In the last few hours, Caminos y Puentes Federales (Capufe) did not report a closure of traffic on the Durango-Mazatlán superhighway. On the contrary, in response to questions from users on the social network X, this decentralized agency responded:

“Good morning. Aut. Durango – Mazatlán is currently operating normally in both directions. The National Guard is coordinating traffic in the area, for more information please call 088 @GN_Carreteras. Drive with caution.”

El Sinaloense Tunnel

This space has been the site of several recent violent incidents. It is the longest tunnel on the “Super” highway, with a total of 41 tunnels. It has also received the title of the second longest in the country. As its name suggests, this tunnel is already within the neighboring state.
