To continue promoting his appointment and to be aware of the delegation, the municipal management of Pueblo Mágico Ajijic will be installed in the Municipal Government of Chapala, as shared by the president-elect, Alejandro de Jesús Aguirre Curiel in his Third Government Report offered on September 20.
The outgoing president, who is also the president-elect, commented that to begin working on the proposals and projects for Ajijic as a Magical Town, he is waiting for the person who will be in charge of the Jalisco Tourism Secretariat (SECTURJAL) to be established to request the support of the Tourism Trust, which according to Aguirre Curiel, is generated from the tax paid by the lodgings by platform, many of them located in the Ribera de Chapala, “It is important to request how much Chapala contributes to ask that it be returned to us and in that way, we can apply it in the Magical Town of Ajijic, that is my intention,” he mentioned.
Regarding the joint work that will be established with the new committee, which was appointed under a new scheme last June, the mayor said that he is confident that this new committee will be more participatory, emphasizing the new direction.
«The Municipal Government will have the direction of Pueblo Mágico Ajijic, with the intention of promoting and being aware of this delegation. I consider it important for the municipal government, the only Pueblo Mágico we have is Ajijic and we have to give it all the impetus», he said.
Regarding the plans or projects thought for Ajijic, he mentioned the sidewalk program, to make a comfortable population for residents and visitors, preserving its identity.
Last June of this year, the Pueblo Mágico de Ajijic Citizen Committee was established with the new dynamic, in which municipal authorities would be directly involved, such as the municipal president, public servant and the person in charge of the tourism direction, as well as three vocalists with their respective substitutes.
These positions, which will be maintained during the period 2024-2027, are occupied by Luis Armando Toledo Aguilar with Antonio López Vega as substitute, Josué Israel Almada Higuera with María Elena Higuera Encisco as substitute and the coordinator Verónica Pilar Mariscal Ortiz with Mauricio Alejandro Vázquez Higuera as substitute.
