Military Commanders Assume Police Leadership in 11 Municipalities of Tabasco

The renewal of leadership will take place in the first 11 municipalities of Tabasco, with Jalpa, Jonuta, Macuspana, Nacajuca, and Balancán still pending.

Addressing security issues at a press conference led by Governor Javier May Rodríguez, the official explained that with the appointment of military officers with the rank of Major, better coordination with the municipal police leadership can be achieved.

In the presence of General Héctor Francisco Morán of the 30th Military Zone, as well as the head of the Judiciary and the State Attorney General, José Barajas, the new directors for the municipalities of Huimanguillo, Comalcalco, Teapa, Cunduacán, Centla, and Cárdenas were introduced.

He specified that the renewal of leadership will take place in the first 11 municipalities of Tabasco, with Jalpa, Jonuta, Macuspana, Nacajuca, and Balancán still pending.

General Chávez Martínez detailed that they will continue to carry out decisive actions throughout the state to contain and reduce criminal acts like those that have occurred recently.

He stated that from October 7 to 13, a total of 19 people were arrested, 12 vehicles and 14 motorcycles were seized, one person was freed from kidnapping, and 56 foreign individuals were rescued.

He also mentioned that four long guns, three short guns, one replica gun, seven magazines, and 151 cartridges were seized.

More than a Thousand People Arrested from January to October 2024: Security

From January to October 13 of this year, it was highlighted that 1,278 people have been arrested, 1,351 vehicles and 376 motorcycles have been seized, 61 people have been freed from kidnapping, 12,169 migrants have been rescued, and 34,466 kilos of marijuana, 11,035 doses of cocaine, 16,333 doses of crack, 5,640 doses of crystal meth, and 3,480 methamphetamines have been seized.

During this period, 5,117,873 liters of stolen fuel, 213 clandestine taps, and 32 properties were also secured, among other items related to criminal activities.
