The new affordable housing developments promoted by the Federal Government of Claudia Sheinbaum must have the necessary infrastructure and services so that what happened in Tlajomulco de Zúñiga does not happen again, where there was a “boom” of houses without services that were abandoned over time, according to specialists.

Andrés Ampudia Farías, consultant on housing and urban management issues, said that behind the housing program presented by Claudia Sheinbaum there must be schools, hospitals and other services that are the trigger for a city.

“A strategy can be made to trigger incredible areas with public housing, schools, hospitals, transportation,” explained the former official of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga who was general director of Housing and responsible for the Renta tu Casa program.

The specialist said that it would also be necessary to prioritize first managing programs to fix, rehabilitate, and re-densify areas that are in a very serious deterioration zone before building more.
He explained that in Tlajomulco de Zúñiga alone there are 77 thousand uninhabited houses that could be adapted to enter this program.

“Many of these houses have already been sold and acquired by someone, but others are available and can be used.”

The specialist said that it will be necessary to review where the territorial reserves of the federal government and the state governments that are contemplated in the program are located, who will operate it so that they can really contribute to the problem and be an alternative.

“It is a house that comes with a public investment scheme and that will be in public territories and will address priority situations, it seems spectacular to me, that is where the response must go, but the information is not very clear yet, we will have to wait,” concluded Andrés Ampudia.
