Los Cabos closes with 51% hotel occupancy in September

Hotel occupancy in the municipality of Los Cabos closed at 51% in September, three points below the same month in 2023.

The executive president of the Los Cabos Hotel Association, Lilzi Orcí Fregoso, said that this has been the behavior of occupancy during 2024, on par with last year or a couple of percentage points below.

“And the great growth curve that we had after the pandemic is already settling in, where we grew in tourist flow at double digits; the trend this year was to normalize the pace of tourist flow to Los Cabos,” she explained.

She mentioned that in the following months of the year an increase in hotel occupancy above 65% is expected and in December to 70%, because “important dates for the destination are coming, fishing tournaments, golf, Thanksgiving and Christmas season, plus the end of the year that undoubtedly nourishes the occupancy of the destination.”

Orcí Fregoso pointed out that the number of hotel rooms in Los Cabos continues to increase, in 2023 there were 18,730 and by October 2024, 19,048; in addition, during 2025 the opening of more than 300 new rooms is expected.

According to the Los Cabos tourism observatory, during the first seven months of 2024 the number of tourists who arrived by air was 2.3 million, 2.6% less than in the same period in 2023.
