Railway Museum Opens Its Doors in Gran Parque La Plancha in Mérida

After two years, the Railway Museum was reopened on Wednesday, October 16, to showcase the history of this mode of transport.

The sound of a train whistle, emulating the departure of a train from the station, marked the inauguration of the Railway Museum in Gran Parque La Plancha in Mérida.

With the presence of former Yucatecan railway workers, the museum opened its doors and began receiving visitors from today.

The museum features 5 rooms that display the history of the railway, its evolution in Mexico, and in the Yucatán Peninsula.

In these spaces, locomotives 270 and 350 stand out, offering interactive experiences and videomapping, as well as a carriage that simulates a train journey.

Visiting hours are from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the last entry at 5:00 PM from Tuesday to Sunday.

The prices are as follows: 80 pesos for general admission, while Yucatecans only pay 40 pesos, the same as children, and tourists pay 120 pesos. On Sundays, admission is free.
