During the night of Wednesday and early Thursday morning, Culiacán was the scene of a series of violent acts: armed men broke into a funeral home, kidnappings and attacks in different parts of the city.
An emergency call reported the presence of armed civilians in the “Moreh” funeral home in the Jorge Almada neighborhood. Upon arrival, the authorities found a man with multiple bruises. The victim, who was attending a wake, was attacked by armed men who tried to take him away without success.
After the attack, he was taken to a hospital, while the attackers fled in three vehicles. The Prosecutor’s Office is already investigating.
In the Versalles neighborhood, gunmen opened fire on a home, leaving impacts on the gate, windows and walls; in addition, they left wreaths of flowers at the scene.
During the night, reports of people injured by gunshots were received at 911, and later the death of three men in different incidents was confirmed: one in the Arboledas subdivision and two in the Buenos Aires neighborhood.
In another event, the deprivation of liberty of a man traveling on a motorcycle was reported in the Las Quintas neighborhood, which was abandoned at the scene. The perpetrators fled in a pickup truck, confirmed the State Preventive Police.
Finally, in the Valle del Sol subdivision, another emergency call was received about the “kidnapping” of a man. Armed civilians entered his home by force and took him away. Both cases are being investigated by the Prosecutor’s Office.
In an incident of another nature, a report is received at 911, about a dead person in the vicinity of the Faculty of Agronomy of the UAS, Culiacán-Eldorado highway, male, apparently the cause of death is from being run over.
