San Blas is preparing the Festival of the Souls 2024, which will take place from October 31 to November 2.
The municipal president of San Blas, José Antonio Barajas López, reported that there will be cultural, gastronomic activities, workshops and contests.
“We start on the 31st, which is a day with many activities. The altar of the dead contest will take place but, above all, today we will have a plus where we will teach the 31st and 1st to people who want to train, we will teach them how to make bread of the dead, there will be tasting in the Main Plaza, there will be cultural and literary activities with the purpose of rescuing and promoting that tradition.”
On November 1, the traditional peace march will take place, an event with a lot of color, lights and joy. This cultural event will also cause an important economic spillover to the hotel sector since visitors are already preparing to spend a few days in the beautiful port of San Blas.
“Last year we had an influx of 20 thousand visitors just in the main square, and today we hope to surpass that number. We hope to reach 30 thousand and for people to come to Nayarit.”
Barajas López assured that this activity also helps to promote local commerce in a season that is considered low, which is why they expect to receive a large number of tourists.
