With more than a ton of different varieties, the Colorado Ensenada advisory board will prepare the largest cheese board in the world, with which it will seek to break the Guinness Record on the Cheese and Wine Route of Baja California.
This was indicated by professor Dr. Julián Córdoba, who highlighted that the last record was registered in the town of Canals, Argentina, with a board of 1,200 kilograms of cheeses, so the premise is to use a total of 1,385 kilograms of different varieties of cheese from the region to break that record.
“What we seek is to attract national and international attention to the Cheese and Wine Route, here in the south of Ensenada, and that the area can be detonated as a tourist attraction, since it has great potential,” said the professor.
Hence, Colorado Ensenada, a mega ecotourism project located on the Cheese and Wine Route, will be the setting for such an objective, where the presence of municipal, state and federal authorities is expected, as well as the official visit of Guinness Record registrars and visitors.
He added that the Governor of the state, Mtra. Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, and the current president of Mexico, Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, will also be invited, in order for the government to turn to this area that has remained in the shadow of Baja California’s growth.
“The former state capital, Real del Castillo, as well as Ensenada, and the current Cheese and Wine Route, are preparing to organize the largest cheese board in the world, where the Colorado Advisory Council, and entrepreneurs of the tourist destination, will be at the forefront of this feat,” he noted.
The professor assured that the news surprises both locals and foreigners, since it has been several months of organization to keep the area in good condition, both in terms of infrastructure and connectivity.
“Of course, the different tourist routes have decided to take action to promote entrepreneurs and small cheese producers in the area, who have a tradition of decades, so the intention is to detonate the area,” argued Dr. Julián Córdoba.
Finally, he pointed out that the purpose is for the Cheese and Wine Route to strengthen and detonate its growth in a sustainable way, so the preparation of the largest cheese board in the world will take place on December 12, 2024, in the Colorado Ensenada development.
