Experts from 13 countries arrive in Aguascalientes; they will explore solutions to guarantee access to food

Aguascalientes will host the Global Agri-Food Forum, one of the most important events in the agro-industrial sector in Mexico and Latin America. This forum will take place on October 17 and 18 at the San Marcos Island Convention Center, bringing together experts, producers and professionals from the agri-food industry.

Isidoro Armendáriz, head of the Secretariat for Rural and Agribusiness Development (Sedrae), reported that specialists from 13 countries will participate in this event, who will present papers and forums focused on food security and sustainable production. The forum will be attended by entrepreneurs, students and officials who will be able to exchange experiences on best practices in food production.

Among the featured speakers are Seth Meyer, head of the United States Department of Agriculture; Shenggen Fan, dean of the China Agricultural University; Valeria Piñeiro, regional representative for Latin America of the International Food Policy Research Institute; and Bram Govaerts, director of the International Center for the Improvement of Corn and Wheat. Armendáriz mentioned that the organization of this event was the result of the joint work of the State Government and various agencies such as Sedrae and Sectur.
