More than 5,000 families in Campeche have been affected by meteorological phenomena this year, with the Secretariat of Welfare providing support in various regions, including Calakmul, Isla Arena, and Isla Aguada.
So far this year, more than 5,000 families have been affected in Campeche by the meteorological phenomena of the hurricane and cyclone season, receiving food supplies, furniture, financial support, and other social assistance.
Additionally, the number of affected families in Calakmul increased from 400 to 500 following the effects of Tropical Storm Nadine in the jungle region.
In an interview with the head of the Secretariat of Welfare of Campeche, Eliza Hernández Romero, she noted that they are currently overwhelmed with tasks, as they continue to provide assistance in Calakmul, Isla Arena in Calkiní, and even in the town of Isla Aguada in Carmen.
“So far this year, more than 5,000 families have been affected throughout the state by various meteorological phenomena. Currently, assistance continues in Calakmul, Isla Arena, Isla Aguada, among other places in the state,” she emphasized.
She also mentioned that in Isla Arena, some fishermen will be supported with the Productive Inclusion program, providing them with approximately 5,000 pesos to address some needs and enable them to work.
