Despite residents’ persistent requests to avoid environmental damage and their “Save Me from the Train” campaign, the Light Rail project has led to the removal of guano, maculís, and almond trees at the intersection with Gobernadores Avenue.
Today, there is no longer shade or coolness for the homes in the area, as Sedena and Morta Engil have left only bare trunks on the other side of the avenue, where further tree cutting is also expected for “modernization” reasons.
