The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) presented the progress of the main infrastructure works that will be completed by the Mexican government during the last two months of the year and the first half of 2025.
For Jalisco, the Short Route to Vallarta will be completed in April 2025. The Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina, explained that the last section that goes from Las Varas to Puerto Vallarta is 67 percent complete. In this case, the work will be completed in April 2025. He reported at the morning press conference of President Claudia Sheibaum, “We have eight bridges, a branch, 13 crossing structures and two junctions, in this case the completion is April 2025. The rains affected us and that is why it was not possible to finish on these dates, but all the work fronts continue to advance significantly,” argued the federal official.
Another section that is still in process with 48 percent progress is the Tepic-Compostela section, with which the Tepic-Puerto Vallarta Highway would be completed by May 30, 2025.
