A federal deputy from the State of Mexico who was driving her vehicle on the Mexico-Querétaro federal highway was shot by armed men who apparently tried to assault her. However, the legislator’s driver managed to avoid the robbery and requested support in the municipality of Tepeji del Río.

According to the information, the attempted assault took place near the industrial park of Tepeji, where the vehicle of the federal representative, identified as María Luisa Mendoza Mondragón, had several bullet impacts after the attack. The attackers fled after failing to stop the deputy’s car.

Municipal police officers assisted the occupants of the vehicle, who were unharmed. Security forces implemented an operation in the area to locate those responsible, but they managed to escape.

Finally, the federal deputy went to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Jilotepec, in the State of Mexico, to start the corresponding investigation file.

The day before, a truck driver was also the victim of an attempted robbery on the same federal highway, where gunshots were fired at him. Like the deputy, the truck driver was unharmed.
