Mahahual: Grand Costa Maya prepares for a great Hanal Pixán 2024

The Grand Costa Maya is preparing to celebrate Hanal Pixán 2024 on the beaches of Mahahual, a festival that seeks to highlight the cultural richness of the Day of the Dead and promote tourism.

The event will take place on November 1 and 2, days in which various activities have been scheduled in order to attract both local residents and national and international tourists.

Miguel Ángel Sánchez Mijangos, member of the Organizing Committee, said that it is an event to celebrate one of the most emblematic traditions of Mexico, and what better way to do it than on the shores of the Caribbean Sea, on the Grand Costa Maya.

“We invite the entire community, the event seeks to promote Mexican culture in Mahahual and boost the local economy through tourism, fostering a new tradition,” he added.

“The celebration seeks not only to honor Mexican traditions, but also to promote social cohesion and strengthen the local economy through tourism,” he said.

Sánchez Mijangos indicated that Hanal Pixán Mahahual 2024 has several key objectives: to preserve the traditions of the Day of the Dead, encourage community participation, encourage national tourism, boost the local economy and establish this holiday as an annual tradition.

He added that traditionally, since these are days of rest, a significant attendance of visitors is expected, mainly from the state capital and surrounding communities, but with the hope of attracting national and foreign tourists.
