This week, the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust led a large delegation of tourism service providers during the second breakfast presentation in Mexico City so far this year, this time with 20 associations and 10 specialized media outlets, in order to share with them the news of the destination and the advantages of holding their events at the International Convention Center (CIC) in the city.

The Puerto Vallarta delegation was made up of 11 hotels, a receiving agency and a tour company.

In order to attract more events to the destination, the Fidetur Groups and Conventions Directorate called the press and various associations to present to them the excellent hotel offering and great connectivity available both by land and air through 24 airlines that connect Puerto Vallarta directly with 54 national and international destinations, figures that will be expanded once terminal 2 of the airport, currently under construction, is completed.

In addition to its privileged geographic position, its excellent connectivity within the city was also made known, since both the Puerto Vallarta International Airport and its Bus Station and Convention Center are just a few minutes from each other.

They also showed the multiple renovations carried out this year at the CIC, with an investment of close to 30 million pesos and its multiple differentiating factors, such as having coworking areas, a breastfeeding center and a playroom, so that attendees of congresses and conventions can update themselves and take advantage of being with their family at the destination, often prolonging their stay.

To date, the CIC has had a significant growth of 35% this year compared to 2023 in the number of events such as congresses, conventions, sporting events and exhibitions, increasing the average stay of attendees by 23% and generating an economic impact of more than 950 million pesos for the destination, which is a reflection of its positioning as a place with all the capacity and infrastructure to host successful events.

At the same time, Fidetur has contributed to the attraction of 42 events including congresses, conventions and incentive trips to the city’s hotels that have facilities for this, generating another 23,000 room nights with an average stay of 3.4 nights and an economic impact of more than 1 billion 300 thousand pesos.

Laura Suárez, director of this area, pointed out that “this visit to Mexico City, where most of the National Associations that are looking for destination options for their next events in 2025 and 2026 are located, has been a success; the fact that we are accompanied by the network of professionals specialized in the subject of meeting tourism demonstrates the cohesion that exists in the destination, which is very attractive for event organizers.”

Added to this is the fact that we have incredible special venues for social events, that is, that are not halls, more than 2,000 restaurants with cuisine from around the world and 50 outdoor activities that make the visit of attendees to congresses, conventions and incentive trips a real pleasure, factors that continue to position Puerto Vallarta as a leader in events at a national and international level.
