A man was murdered on a beach in Cancun by another man who arrived at the scene on a jet ski, accompanied by someone else. The crime happened on October 2nd, but it wasn’t until 23 days later that Jesus ‘N’, the alleged killer, was arrested on suspicion of committing a qualified homicide as part of an investigation led by the Interinstitutional Task Force of the National Security Strategy for the first 100 days.
According to the Attorney General’s Office in the State, the attack took place at kilometer 8.5 along Kukulcán Boulevard. A video that has been seen during investigations shows two armed men running on the beach and shooting the victim, who later died from his injuries.
Jesus ‘N’ and his companion fled by abandoning their jet skis in the area of Costa Mujeres, on Isla Mujeres. An employee of a well-known company was also involved in the case as he provided the motorcycles that Jesus ‘N’ used to arrive at and escape from the crime scene, according to the prosecution.
Jesus ‘N’ has been linked to a recently dismantled criminal gang led by Zacarías ‘N’, known as Skiny. He was captured on October 17th along with two women who allegedly acted as his financial operators in Merida, Yucatan. The investigation into the murder is ongoing. During Jesus ‘N’s capture, members of the Interinstitutional Task Force participated, which included the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena), the Ministry of the Navy (Semar) and the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection (SSyPC) as well as elements from the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Homicide Crimes and the National Anti-Kidnapping Commission.
