Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño headed the last phase of the consolidation of the Northwest Chapter of the American Chamber of Commerce of Mexico (Amcham), which promotes the strengthening of the commercial relationship between Mexico and the United States, through international business practices between the public and private sectors.
The governor participated in the signing of this fourth stage, within the framework of the 65th edition of the Sonora-United States Commission, and highlighted the relevance of the Sonora Sustainable Energy Plan as an impetus to host the headquarters of this North American business organization in the state.
We are very proud that, after 50 years of not opening a new chapter, the American Chamber of Commerce in Mexico has chosen Sonora as the headquarters of its Northwest Chapter. This shows that in economic matters we are doing things well in Sonora,” he commented.
Accompanied by Pedro Casas Alatriste, Executive Vice President and General Director of Amcham; the Governor of Arizona, Katie Hobbs; the United States Ambassador to Mexico, Ken Salazar; Emilio Cadena, representative of the National Executive Council of Amcham; as well as Francisco Acuña Méndez, executive president of the Council for Sustainable Development of Sonora (Codeso), the governor of Sonora highlighted the current situation in the State and the potential it offers in terms of the use of clean energy.
Marcelo Ebrard, Secretary of Economy of the federal Government, recognized the collaboration that exists between Arizona and Sonora, being a hope for the future of the relationship between both countries.
