A total of nine 2025 model vehicles were stolen while being transported aboard a tanker truck on the Morelia-Pátzcuaro highway.
The complaint filed with the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office indicates that heavily armed subjects intercepted the driver of the unit and after subduing him proceeded to unload the units, among which were pickup trucks and compact vehicles.
So far in October, the FGR has reported that it has opened 8 investigation files for different events in which 21 vehicles have been stolen using the same modus operandi, all of them transported in tanker trucks:
October 15.- 2 Mazda vehicles, in San Agustín del Maíz, Morelia – Salamanca highway.
October 15.- 1 Mazda vehicle, at the Chapultepec Toll Booth, Pátzcuaro – Cuitzeo highway.
October 16.- 1 Pickup truck, at the Chapultepec toll booth, Pátzcuaro – Cuitzeo highway.
October 17.- 3 Pickups, at the Churintzio toll booth, Mexico – Guadalajara highway.
October 18.- 2 Nissan vehicles, at the Morelia bypass.
October 22.- 2 Pickups, at the Panindícuaro toll booth, Mexico – Guadalajara highway.
October 24.- 1 Pickup truck, in Las Trojes, Morelia – Pátzcuaro highway
October 28.- 9 vehicles, in the La Nueva neighborhood of Pátzcuaro, Morelia – Pátzcuaro highway.
