The Plazuela Zaragoza in Mazatlán has been given a facelift.

This afternoon, this iconic public space located just a few blocks from the Malecón in downtown Mazatlán underwent a transformation with new lighting, a complete renovation of its central kiosk, benches, restrooms, and various improvements that enhance both its image and functionality.

Mazatlán Mayor Edgar González officially inaugurated the renovation of the Plazuela Zaragoza, attended by dozens of enthusiastic citizens.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining these public spaces, which are essential for citizens’ well-being. “These areas are vital for promoting healthy recreation,” he said. “It is crucial that we keep them in good condition to ensure their long-term preservation.”

The Mayor expressed his satisfaction with completing this renovation project, stating, “I am thrilled to finish this rehabilitation effort. This Plazuela Zaragoza is your home away from home. It’s where you come to let loose, have fun, exercise, socialize, and connect with others. Here, you can release all the joy and enthusiasm that comes with being in a vibrant public space.”

The renovation team consisted of Municipal DIF System Director Armida Hernández Lara, Public Services Director Karla Camacho Guzmán, Public Works Director Rigoberto Arámburo Bojórquez, Chief Officer Rogelio Olivas Osuna, and Councilman Eduardo Alcaraz Conde. Together with the Mayor, they participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The Plazuela Zaragoza rehabilitation project not only enhances the area’s aesthetic appeal but also provides citizens with a renovated space to enjoy their leisure time. This initiative reaffirms the administration’s commitment to creating inclusive and accessible public spaces for all under the leadership of Mayor Edgar González.
