On Wednesday night, a group of individuals threw metal spikes called “punchallantas” onto the Mazatlán Bypass. This reckless act resulted in several cargo vehicles having flat tires.
At kilometer 262 on the north-south lane, a truck driver found his vehicle’s front right and rear tires deflated after driving over the spikes. The driver had been traveling from Culiacán with a load of corn headed towards Nayarit.
However, when he entered the Mazatlán Bypass, his tires came into contact with the metal pieces embedded in the road, causing them to deflate. He managed to drive almost a kilometer before stopping near the detour leading to the Pradera Dorada subdivision.
Upon inspection, he discovered that the spikes had pierced his tires and were lodged inside. The driver called a local tire dealer for assistance, and together they spent at least two hours changing the affected tires.
After verifying that everything was in order, the truck continued on its journey to Nayarit.
