From November 11 to 16, the 12th edition of France Week in Baja California will be held, organized by the French Alliance of Tijuana. During a week of activities and events, you will be able to witness the magic of Paris without having to buy a plane ticket. Inauguration of France Week in Baja California
On Monday, November 11, at 7 p.m., a tribute will be paid to Max Gurney, Honorary Consul of Monaco in San Diego, California. This renowned veteran of World War II fought during the landing in Europe of the Allied Forces in 1944. On the 80th anniversary of the landing in Nomandy, he will share photographs and tell his personal anecdotes.
The venue will be in the event room of the Alliance Française and will have limited capacity because entry will be free, reservations are essential.
The Frenchman who has traveled the world by bicycle arrives in Tijuana
On Tuesday, November 12 at 7 p.m. Mr. Clotaire Mandel will be visiting, a French cyclist who has dedicated his life to traveling the world. Mandel has been riding on roads on all continents for 6 years, through Instagram he claims that he has traveled up to 61 thousand kilometers and has crossed 60 countries.
The venue will be in the Gardens of the Alliance Française and it will be a free event.
Flavour party with French wine tasting
On Wednesday, November 13, at 7 p.m., sommelier Romina Mendoza will take you on a sensorial journey to the Bordeaux region, through the tasting of 4 great wines, accompanied by snacks. This wine event will take place at the Gardens of the Alliance Française, with a cost of 600 pesos. It is important to mention that there is limited capacity, so it is important to book in advance.
French cinema to commemorate the actor Alain Delon
On Thursday, November 14, at 6 pm, 2 films will be broadcast in homage to the late French actor Alain Delon, considered one of the most important icons of European cinema of the 20th century and known for his physical attractiveness. Two masterpieces of which he was a part will be presented, the first at 6 pm and the second at 8 pm. There will also be an online broadcast on Google Meet.
The venue will be at the Alliance Française, it is a free event.
Musical journey with a selection of French songs
On Friday, November 15th, at 8pm, French pianist Marina Pacowski will delight visitors with works by Ravel, Debussy, Fauré, Chopin and a selection of French songs by Gainsbourg, Piaf, Fugain, Legrand, among others.
The venue will be in the Gardens of the Alliance Française, with a cost of $250 pesos for the general public and $200 pesos for students of the Alliance Française.
French gastronomic delight
On Saturday, November 16th at 8pm, an exquisite dinner will be brought to all visitors, who will be able to taste everything from cream of mushroom soup and various cheeses to a delicious crème brûlée. There will be a raffle for a bottle of French champagne and during dinner, the best musical pieces by Francoise Hardy will be heard.
The venue will be at the Gardens of the Alliance Française, with a cost of $750 pesos.
An invaluable experience
The French Week in Baja California was born from the agreement signed in 2012 between the Champagne-Ardennes Region and the state of Baja California, through the French Embassy in Mexico. Since then and every year in November, the Alliance Française of Tijuana is in charge of creating a celebration where the cultural diversity and the most iconic details of France are demonstrated.
