Condor inaugurated its flights to Baja California Sur in Mexico

Germany-based Condor has launched flights between Frankfurt (FRA) and Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) in the southern part of the Mexican state of Baja California Sur. The new destination will complement its existing scheduled flights to Cancún (CUN) on the Yucatán Peninsula.

“Los Cabos is at the top of the wish list of many Germans and has been on Condor’s list for a long time. Flights to the attractive Pacific coast are made possible by the arrival of our new A330neo, either in the new Economy cabin or in the Prime seats in Business Class,” says Jens Boyd, Chief Commercial Officer of Condor.

The government of Los Cabos has been seeking a direct connection to Germany since 2019, which will accompany Iberojet’s current operations to Madrid (MAD), Spain, during the northern hemisphere summer seasons. “The opening of this new route not only strengthens Los Cabos’ connectivity with Europe, but also boosts the economic and social development of our region. We hope that this connection will attract thousands of German tourists, generating opportunities for our local businesses and promoting an enriching cultural exchange,” emphasized the Secretary of Tourism and Economy of Baja California Sur, Maribel Collins

Condor flight schedule to Los Cabos

The Frankfurt – Los Cabos route began on November 3, 2024 and will run until March 23, 2025, with two weekly flights, providing a capacity of 15,500 seats in each direction during that period. The flights will be operated on Airbus A330-900, configured for 310 passengers in three classes: 30 seats in business class, 64 in premium economy class and 216 in economy class.

Raúl Revuelta Musalem, General Director of Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), stated, “This route marks a milestone for Los Cabos Airport and its connectivity with Germany. It has undoubtedly been a pleasant experience to collaborate with Condor to make this unprecedented route possible. Our priority will always be to offer the best travel experience to our passengers.»

Currently, the largest influx of international tourists comes from the United States and Canada. Air Canada, Flair, Westjet and Sunwing connect eight Canadian cities. Alaska, American, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest, Sun Country and United offer flights to 29 cities in the United States.
