Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda, in her commitment to continue promoting economic development and social well-being, announced the growth of foreign investment in the state, which has been attracted thanks to the talent of Baja Californians.

Marina del Pilar reported that, during her administration, the state has received more than five thousand 300 million dollars from foreign direct investment, a figure higher than previous administrations and that has managed to transform the lives of Baja California families.

The governor highlighted that this year investments in the order of 3 thousand million dollars were committed in Baja California, and 44% of this commitment is for Mexicali.

On the other hand, for the municipality of Tijuana, the state leader announced that the Toyota company will invest 336 million dollars, which will include the installation of an automotive plant to generate hundreds of jobs.

The president of Toyota in Mexico spoke to me to announce the important investment of more than 336 million dollars that they are going to make in their Toyota plant in Baja California, in Tijuana, which will be more than 1,200 jobs for the people of Tijuana.”

Currently, Baja California occupies the first place in economic growth among the states in the north of the country, and is recognized as the region with the greatest increase in salaries at the national level.

Do you know why global companies want to invest in Baja California? Before, governments presumed cheap labor, how wrong they were, we are not cheap. There is talent here in our state and that is what we are betting on, on talent, so that everyone in our state has the opportunity to have a well-paid job.”

The state leader highlighted that, together with universities and technological centers, they have worked on the training of BC talent, which will allow the development of highly demanded activities worldwide today.

Finally, Marina del Pilar stressed that, due to its geographical location, Baja California is an attractive destination for new investments, with its proximity to the states of Arizona and California to the north, as well as Asia.
