Anticipated Surge in Bus Passengers to Mérida for December Season

An increase in bus passengers arriving in Yucatán is expected for the upcoming December season.

Eduardo Córdova Balbuena, the representative of ADO, stated that the Mérida Bus Terminal sees a significant influx of people traveling to destinations such as Oaxaca, Puebla, Mexico City, and Veracruz. Many others also arrive in the state for vacation.

“Typically, we move more than 500,000 people to and from Yucatán in all destinations during December. It’s a relatively short season compared to summer, but very intense, with long-distance travel,” he explained.

Reports indicate that the influx of people increases by 15 to 18% on bus routes, with over 130 services each day.

Forecasts suggest that the largest increase will occur in the second week of December, although people start purchasing their tickets as early as November.
