A man was shot on Wednesday afternoon on the Punta Sam-Isla Blanca highway and was admitted to Cancun General Hospital due to his injuries.
The incident occurred around 12:40 p.m. at the roundabout near the ferry. The armed attack mobilized police authorities and private paramedics. Upon arrival, it was confirmed that the victim had a bullet wound in his leg and was transported to the hospital.
Municipal police officers from Isla Mujeres conducted a search operation and arrested a man identified as the alleged perpetrator. The current health status of the victim remains unknown.
