Kenya Roxana S. M., a 24-year-old from Mérida, was arrested today for the murder of her partner.

On Wednesday, November 13, Kenya allegedly injured Julio César C. R. in the neck with a knife inside a building on 35th Street in the San Vicente Oriente neighborhood. The complaint and subsequent investigations led to this conclusion.

Agents from the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) assigned to the State Investigation Police (PEI), in coordination with the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), gathered evidence pointing to Kenya’s probable responsibility. A control judge issued an arrest warrant, which was executed on Saturday.

Kenya, who had a baby with the deceased, was also arrested for assaulting a uniformed officer. The legal status of the child remains uncertain, with no clear indication of which family member or authority will have guardianship.

On Thursday night, personnel from the Prosecutor’s Office and the PEI conducted proceedings at the house on 35th Street with 14-A in the San Vicente Oriente subdivision, where the incident occurred. The street was closed while security forces carried out the investigation.
