Mazatlán: A Thriving Tourist Destination and Real Estate Investment Hub

Mazatlán continues to solidify its reputation as a premier tourist destination and a major hub for real estate investment. The city boasts 196 ongoing projects with an investment exceeding 55 million pesos, as highlighted by Emilio Rojo Cobián, national president of the Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals (AMPI), during the inauguration of the 4th Real Estate Forum 2024, titled “Present and Future of Real Estate Investments in Mazatlán.”

Real Estate Growth

Rojo Cobián emphasized that AMPI, which includes nearly 7,000 real estate agents, has played a crucial role in city planning and decision-making processes, ensuring orderly and sustainable growth. Ismael Tirado, president of AMPI Mazatlán, reiterated the resilience and strength of the Mazatlán brand, despite various challenges.

Currently, Mazatlán has over 196 developments in progress, with 132 focused on the residential and tourism sectors. Additionally, around 2,000 real estate transactions are conducted annually through intermediary services.

Addressing more than 550 attendees from cities such as Tijuana, Mexico City, Culiacán, and Durango, Tirado highlighted key issues for the sector, including the growth of the tourist-residential segment and new opportunities in logistics and industrial sectors. He noted that over 55 million pesos are being invested in Mazatlán’s real estate sector.

Government Collaboration

Fernando Arballo Quintero, Chief Officer of the City Council, emphasized the importance of collaboration between the private sector and the government to ensure Mazatlán’s orderly and sustainable growth. The forum also featured the presence of Luciano Carrasco Altamirano, President-Elect of AMPI Mazatlán 2025; Ana María Ruiz Portillo, Director of the AMPI Mazatlán Forum; Vice President Oscar Tirado; and Alejandro Higuera, Undersecretary of Tourism for the Meetings Industry in Sinaloa.
